I love a snack that can also pass for dessert. These Easy Peanut Butter Balls certainly fit the bill. The perfect mid-day snack that will keep you full and satisfied.

This is also a perfect recipe to get the kids involved in the kitchen. It only requires 5 ingredients so they are fairly simple to make. Kids will have fun getting their hands dirty with the rolling process.

No-Bake Peanut Butter Balls are a great alternative to traditional packaged snacks. You could pack them in their lunch for a special treat or enjoy them for an after school snack.

Bursting with peanut butter and chocolate flavor, really anyway you dish em the kids will eat em!

Ingredient Notes:

  • Rolled Oats – I use regular old fashion rolled oats. However, quick oats will work as well.
  • Vegan Chocolate Chips – Use whatever brand you prefer, I used Enjoy Life. You could also cut up chocolate chunks or a bar of vegan chocolate.
  • Peanut Butter – I generally use a natural unsalted unsweetened peanut butter in all of my recipes. Any nut butter you enjoy will work.
  • Maple Syrup – Pure natural maple syrup works best. If you need a replacement agave would work well.
  • Vanilla – I generally use pure vanilla extract as I find it is a better quality and worth the splurge.
  • Salt – I use a very fine Sea Salt for most of my recipes.

How To Make:

In a medium sized bowl add your peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla and mix until well incorporated together.

Wet ingredients mixed together in clear bowl.

Now add your oats, salt and chocolate chips. Mix well until your ingredients are incorporated together. You will want to make sure your oats are evenly coated in the wet mixture.

Dry ingredients added and everything incorporated together.

Take a heaping tablespoon of dough into the palm of your hand and roll mixture into a ball. Continue this process until all your dough is gone. I like to use the squish and roll method. First squish the dough together in the palm of your hands back and forth a few times, then roll until a ball forms.

Finished balls rolled and in uniform rows.

Once your bites are all rolled place them in an air tight container and store them in the refrigerator.

Enjoy!

Tips For Success:

  • Use the squish and roll method. For the rolling process make sure to first squish the mixture into the palm of your hand a few times then begin to roll them. This helps the balls to form together easier and makes the rolling process much easier as well.
  • Mix your peanut butter well before adding it. Natural peanut butter generally needs to be mixed very well as the oil from the peanuts is separated at the top of the jar. You do not want large chunks and want to make sure it is well mixed before adding it to the other ingredients.
What If They Are Dry?

If the mixture seems too dry when rolling you could try getting your hands wet during the rolling process. Alternatively you could add a bit more peanut butter or maple syrup. I would recommend adding a tablespoon at a time and mixing very well before rolling again.

How To Store?

Store in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can also freeze these for up to 3 months.
